City Paper
Marketing and Events Intern

The City Paper is the Greater Philadelphia region's
leading weekly newspaper with a 98% pick-up rate. The
paper is supported by its advertising sales, which enables
readers to obtain free issues every week. Kimberly works
with the Marketing and Special Events department. Assignments
include press releases, dealing with weekly promotions,
and handling any and all material associated with special
events hosted by the City Paper.
Duties include:
*Assist Marketing and Events
Manager with duties associated with advertising, marketing,
public relations, promotions, and special events.
*Perform general office
duties, work with advertising promotional material,
and regularly update mailing lists.
*Promote and organize special
events including Philadelphia Style Wars, City Paper
20th Anniversary Party, Pitch Control DJ Competition
and City Paper Music Awards.
The
Blarney South
Bar Manager and Bartender
August 1999 - present
The Blarney South is an Irish/American Bar and Grill.
The establishment offers a friendly, charming atmosphere
to relax and unwind. In addition to the 21 beers on
draft, there is a large selection of bottled beers and
spirits to satisfy anyone's thirst and delicious American
and Irish favorites on the menu. There is entertainment
three nights a week and frequent liquor promotions.
Duties include:
*Perform general managerial
functions including inventory control, promotional activities,
and other business concerns.
*Handle product assortment
and pricing strategies.
*Train new staff.
*Bartend regularly.
WM
Machine Tool
Business Growth Developer & Administrative Assistant
June 1998 - July 2000
WM Machine Tool designs, fabricates and manufactures
stainless steel equipment. They serve clients such as
Glaxo SmithKline, Bayer, Wyeth-Ayerst, Wayne Automation,
Boeing, and the United States Navy. Kimberly began her
position as an Administrative Assistant and was then
promoted to create a website and other marketing material
to obtain new potential clients.
Duties included:
*Performing general office
duties.
*Prepared and paid invoices
and generated client quotations.
*Scheduled meetings, conferences,
and travel arrangements.
*Promoted to develop Internet
presence.
*Obtained new possible
client contacts by sending company profile portfolios.
